OHH (Operation Help a Hero) Baby Showers!
We are now accepting unit applications for OHH Baby Showers for next year's late spring/summer season
(April-August of 2012).
Deployed units can fill out our unit application due by August 31st (these are processed on a first applied, first serve basis)
 
Military families are amazing. They quietly shoulder the burden of separation from loved ones in
support/service of our country. Children go months without seeing a loved one/parent. Parents anxiously
await the return of their grown children as they proudly serve. Spouses keep the homefires burning and
family business in order. But perhaps the truest heroes on the homefront are the new and expecting
mommies with their husbands deployed.
Imagine the joy, the excitement, the anxiety and the hormones of pregnancy and add to that the stress
related to having a loved one deployed. Our military's warrior mommies-to-be often endure the ups and
downs of pregnancy alone, and miles away from family. This is precisely why OHH Baby Showers work to
unite new and expecting mommies during deployment. An afternoon of pampering, a catered lunch, fun
games, photography opportunities, access to labor/delivery professionals, and unbelievable raffle prizes are
just a part of the day planned to celebrate and thank these warrior mommies-to-be. In the end, these mommies
will not only walk away with gifts, full bellies, photos for daddy and larger baby items to lighten the financial
burden of raising a baby, they will also walk away with a support system.

NEXT BABY SHOWER: November 6th, Camp Pendleton, for up to 40 women from BLT 2/4 (while unit is deployed to Afghanistan).
