Upcoming events:

1. Operation Rack Pack for 7th ESB’s ADVON (Service members returning before the “main body” to prepare the way), returning from Afghanistan

     DATE: Monday, October 24 from 10am-1pm

     WHERE:  Camp Pendleton, CA

     DETAILS: We will prepare the barracks rooms for 65 Marines and Sailors returning on ADVON with

                     7th ESB

     VOLUNTEER SIGN UP DEADLINE:Sunday, October 23rd

     HELPFUL SERVICE PROJECTS AND COLLECTIONS: 

  • Items needed: towel sets, $10 food gift cards, new and gently used DVD movies, shaving cream, deodorant, t-shirts
  • Service projects to support this program: towel collection and rolling parties, DVD drives, door-to-door collection of toiletries, grocery store drives in your community, yard sales, welcome home card/poster making projects, assembly of "kitchen kits", prep of bathroom kits

2. OHH Baby Shower for New and Expecting Mommies with 2/4 (unit deployed in Afghanistan)

     DATE: Sunday, November 6th from 12-3pm

     WHERE: Camp San Mateo, Camp Pendleton

     DETAILS: OHH will be hosting a baby shower for up to 25 of 2/4's new and expecting mommies

                    while their husbands are deployed. 

     VOLUNTEER SIGN UP DEADLINE: November 1st

     AGE RESTRICTIONS: none

    HELPFUL SERVICE PROJECTS AND COLLECTIONS: 

  •     Items needed: groups to "adopt" their own mommy, baby books, baby bjorns, baby toys, baby bath items, raffle prizes, cribs, strollers, car seats, high chairs
  • Service projects to support this program: diaper and wipe drives, baby blanket making, onesie rolling, diaper cake making, creating balloon settings, donate dishes for lunch service, baby craft kits, table candies, prepare a baby game, etc.

3. Operation Rack Pack for 7th ESB Part I, returning from Afghanistan

     DATE: Sunday, November 13th  from 1pm-4pm

     WHERE: Camp Pendleton, CA

     DETAILS: We will prepare the barracks rooms for 175 Marines and Sailors with 7th ESB (there are

                      females in this group), returning from deployment to Afghanistan

     VOLUNTEER SIGN UP DEADLINE: November 11th

     AGE RESTRICTIONS: no volunteers under the age of 8 please

  • Items needed: towel sets, $10 food gift cards, new and gently used DVD movies, shaving cream, deodorant, t-shirts. noodle cups, snack foods, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors
  • Service projects to support this program: towel collection and rolling parties, DVD drives, door-to-door collection of toiletries, grocery store drives in your community, yard sales, welcome home card/poster making projects, assembly of "kitchen kits", prep of bathroom kits

    4. Operation Rack Pack for 7th ESB Part II, returning from Afghanistan

         DATE: Friday, December 2nd from 10am-1pm

         WHERE: Camp Pendleton, CA

         DETAILS: We will prepare the barracks rooms for 200 Marines and Sailors with 7th ESB, returning from

                        Afghanistan

         VOLUNTEER SIGN UP DEADLINE: November 30th

         AGE RESTRICTIONS: no volunteers under the age of 8. 

  • Items needed: towel sets, $10 food gift cards, new and gently used DVD movies, shaving cream, deodorant, t-shirts. noodle cups, snack foods, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors
  • Service projects to support this program: towel collection and rolling parties, DVD drives, door-to-door collection of toiletries, grocery store drives in your community, yard sales, welcome home card/poster making projects, assembly of "kitchen kits", prep of bathroom kits

    5. OHH HO HO Christmas Party and Operation Enduring Support Fundraiser

         DATE: Saturday, December 3rd from 6-9pm

         WHERE: Proud Mary's, Dana Point Harbor

         DETAILS: Join us for our OHH Christmas party. A $75.00 ticket buys you apps (crab crostini, shrimp cocktail), dinner (pasta dishes, salad, garlic bread), drinks (soda, coffee, tea, juice), 1 cocktail, 1 raffle ticket and a night of dancing with "Pretty Ricky" as the DJ. After cost, your ticket price will also cover a $25.00 donation to our Operation Enduring Support Program, which provides emergency assistance to military families in crisis situations. 

       TO HAVE A FORMAL INVITE TO OUR OHH HOHO PARTY MAILED TO YOU, simply send an email request with your address to Wendy Ruiz at ruiz01@cox.net .    

         HOW YOU CAN HELP: 

    • We are in search for local businesses, restaurants and service providers to donate items for our raffle fundraiser. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and will help us raise money to assist military families who need our help. 
    • We need volunteers with special talents in decorating, preparing gift baskets and creating holiday goodies.
    • If you are unable to make it but want to contribute to this fundraiser, you can make online donations with the note: OHH HoHo or mail cash/check/gift card donations to Operation Help a Hero, PO Box 80996, Rancho Santa Margarita, Ca 92688
    • Have ideas that you want to share for this fundraiser, contact the OHH HoHo party coordinator, Wendy Ruiz at ruiz01@cox.net . 

    6. Operation Christmas Spirit for over 80 Camp Pendlton Families

       DRIVE INFORMATION:  

            ~

    drives will run from November 14th-December 6th

                      Operation Christmas Spirit gift pick up will be on December 7th

         WHERE: St. Johns School, 30382 Via Con Dios

         DETAILS: OHH will be hosting a baby shower for up to 40 of 1/5's new and expecting mommies

                        while their husbands are deployed. 

         VOLUNTEER SIGN UP DEADLINE: June 12th 

         AGE RESTRICTIONS: none
